News @ 26 September 2023. Other 2024 Projects (to those at https://www.grahamhay.com.au/)
New projects will be first announced and documented on my website first and not on social media. Just finished a very short article for the Indian Ceramic Journal.. In the studio I'm also enjoying going in circles, exploring and experimenting with combining different organic and inorganic materials in paper clay. Also for the IAH Conversations II collaboration trying to incorporate another artist and her photo of yet another artist into a 3D work. Started with paper clay but at this stage looks likely to be in glass... Still not finished polishing a requested longer journal article... Between monthly updates on this webpage, other webpages on this website are updated daily for individual upcoming projects, exhibitions, workshops. Be aware that this website contains over 180 webpages of information. Suggestions and corrections on layout, gramma, links are always welcome! Past 2023 news Early this year I was commissioned to create a large and small biomorphic sculpture for a Sydney penthouse apartment undergoing a major renovation. Pop over to TikTok to see some of the trials and successes while building the works here. I presenting new ceramic paper clay work in "Conversations" an inaugural exhibtion, and related events, on Monday 24 April 5:30-8:30pm, launching the Inglewood Arts Hub, Perth, Western Australia. Conversations referred to the collaborative nature of the process of creating the work along with a dozen other artists. If you know an artist living in or near Inglewood, or are an artist yourself, tell them or come along and join in the next collaborative exhibition. Some video of me building the next collaborate work is works is here. Recently gave two free half day introduction to paper workshops sponsored by the City of Stirling, for the Yokine Potters Group (WA) on Tuesday 9th May. Interesting detail: I gave my first real paper clay workshop at the Yokine Pottery Group in 1993 (apart a workshop for fellow students and staff at Edith Cowan University) 30 years ago! Life is full of circles. I also exhibited a work (now sold) in भू – त$: Elements of Earth, Emami Art: Kolkata Centre for Creativity, Kolkata, India (IG images) February 24 - April 15 2023. the annual 1 page studio newsletter summarising the last year and upcoming projects is up: here. cheers
