January 2021 News

Be more than a Social Media Liker.

Don't just "like" BLM.   I urge you to make a donation to the Nyoongar Patrol (Nyoongar Outreach Service).  Let's help the patrol reach their target.

For twenty years they daily drive past our studio keeping people safe and out of the criminal system. Set up following the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody (1987–1991).

USA international paper clay touring exhibition (2019-2021) update:

On 6 January it was great to chat with other international paper clay artists (some known now for decades) plus new artists, as well as everyone else involved in creating the exhibition at the  Zoom virtual Opening.

You can walk through the Particle & Wave exhibition online via a VR at the final venue until May 30 2021 at the Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, MA, USA.

* After nearly 6 months of blocked borders and no community transmission of the COVID 19 virus (all known cases detected in inbound travellers) the state of Western Australia has begun relaxing its borders @ 30 October 2020.  If circumstances change the studio workshop and classes will be postponed and all student enrolments and credits credits will be preserved.

This website was first created to share information on paper clay, as it was not widely available.  This was before textbooks and when there were only a few scattered journal articles.  It grew into the documentation of art projects and listing of upcoming learning opportunities.   It is a symbolic “thank you” to the many thousands who participated in events I led, who shared so generously their techniques and personal stories.  This enriched both myself and ultimately my future students.  Ultimately it is a gift to the next generation of potters, artists and art students.  I hope it inspires you, informs you and provides an example of the sort of creative journey you have or are about to begin. Enjoy your travels!  Cheers! Graham
